Anthony (Dad) – 1941-2022
The pillar, the rock of our business and our family. The person without who none of this would exist today. He never really retired from the company so was able to witness first-hand the boys successfully take over his business. We know he would be proud of everything that has been achieved. He was honestly the calmest, most hard-working man (he would have slept at work if he didn’t have a family to come home to ?) who especially enjoyed cod’s roe and smoked kippers!
Nick & Tom (brothers)
Nick (on the right) originally trained as a chef and worked in that industry for 4 years. He then planned on joining the RAF as a mover and took some time off to work towards this new adventure. How did he end up in the business? “By accident”, Nick replied. He did a few delivery rounds to help out his dad and never left! And that was… 17 years ago! Nick is now our in-house chef who is not only good with fish but also very practical so any repair jobs are for him. You may have seen Nick serving in the shop or on our social media pages cooking some delicious seafood dishes. Fun fact: it took Justine a while to convince him to be filmed whilst cooking but he now really enjoys it ?
Tom (on the left) always had a business mind; from a young age, at school, he was buying and selling all sorts of things (mainly sweets). In 2008, after spending 1 year in college, he made the decision to not study anymore and to join the company. As he was not really needed then, he came to the agreement with his dad that he would work voluntarily for a few months. His perseverance paid off as he is now, 15 years later, the co-managing director (alongside Nick) of the family business. Tom also multitasks, from organising the office to purchasing the fish and serving in the shop ?
Justine (Tom’s fiancée)
Justine is French and studied International Business in Foreign Languages at the Angers university. She moved to England in 2015 and was never meant to join the business but, when the pandemic hit, she ended up on furlough and volunteered to help setting up the home delivery service, allowing people to get some food supplies without having to go out. She was a valuable asset when it came to advertising (especially on social media) so the decision was made to employ her full time. Justine is organized and keen on growing the retail side of the business, so it was only natural for her to become the retail manager. Fun fact: she used to never eat fish but did not have the choice than learn to enjoy it being part of the Tabor family.
Edyta
Edyta was originally a customer of ours who applied to become our fresh fish processor. She started during the Covid chaos and proved to be a key member of our small business. She manages the fresh department really well, thanks to her great organizational skills and her passion for quality fish. She also has great ideas for the future of the business and brings a lot of joy with her bubbly personality.
Mark
Mark is behind the scenes, having fun with the company’s numbers! He is also great with IT stuff in general and always happy to help in other departments if needed.
The drivers
We could not do it without our drivers who navigate around the lanes and roads of Sussex & Surrey to deliver your fish at home. We have the friendliest guys – you can be sure to open your door to a happy face.
